CHF Holds Dental Health Promotion Competition in Lamteuba Village, Aceh Besar PDF Print E-mail

30 August 2007:  On Saturday, 25 August CHF held a “Healthy Smiles” competition in Lamteuba village, Aceh Besar. The event was the culmination of CHF’s series of dental hygiene promotion activities in Lamteuba. The activities, funded by Direct Relief International, have provided dental screenings to 1000 children from the Lamteuba community, and taught them about proper teeth brushing, dental anatomy, food and oral hygiene, and the importance of regular visits to the dentist.

15 August 2007.  Today CHF formally handed over the health post at Peunayong Market to the Banda Aceh District Health Office (DHO), in a ceremony attended by Thomas White, Chief of Party of CHF International/Indonesia’s program in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, Dr. Hj. Dewi Lailawati Msc. of the DHO, district sanitarian workers, and CHF Community and Markets Health team members.

CHF Leads Health Training for Daging Market Vendors PDF Print E-mail

15 August 2007. Today CHF International – Indonesia led a health training for vendors from Daging Market in Banda Aceh. The spice vendors and meat vendors were trained in four areas critical to maintaining a healthy marketplace: vector control, cross-contamination, solid waste management, and hygiene, water and sanitation.
