On July 27, 2008, Judith Hermanson, Senior Vice President of CHF International attended a handover ceremony of Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation (WSES) program for six villages in Lamno, a town in Aceh Jaya District of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.

CHF Indonesia has been working in Lamno to implement the integrated Lamno WSES Program, funded by AmeriCares. Additional programming in the Lamno area was funded by USAID, Oxfam, Direct Relief International, AIG Disaster Relief and Dow Corporation.

The handover ceremony took place at Babah Ie village in Lamno and was attended by AmeriCares, CHF staff, the Villages representatives of water committees and community members.

The Lamno WSES Program targets communities is in Meunasah Tutong, Meunasah Tengoh, Meunasah Rayeuk, Rumpet, Krueng Tenong, Lambaroh and Babah Ie. A total of 2,303 people benefited directly from the Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation (WSES) program and a total of 8,000 people indirectly benefited from the program.

At the handover, the village water committees representatives expressed gratitude to CHF and AmeriCares for the support  as water access is one of the most critical issues for the community of six villages in Lamno, Aceh Jaya.
