In his remarks, the Mayor appealed to vendors, market management and customers to implement bio-security in the market in line with the Health Markets program organized by CHF International. “Even the most sophisticated facilities will be useless if the vendors, market management and customers do not raise their awareness to keep the market environment clean. Therefore, I appeal to vendors and customers to raise their awareness on market cleanliness,” said Ilham.

These 3 areas have purposely been separated with the intention of preventing cross contamination of bacteria or viruses and thereby maintaining a high level of bio-security. The poultry vendors at Sambung Jawa have moved into their new facilities and for the first time are working in a clean and bio-secure area.
