 Aceh is a special territory ( daerah istimewa) of Indonesia, located on the northern tip of the island of Sumatra. Its full name is Nanggröe Aceh Darussalam. Past spellings of its name include Acheh, Atjeh and Achin. Within the Republic of Indonesia, Aceh is governed not as a province but as a special territory ( daerah istimewa), an administrative designation intended to give the area increased autonomy from the central government in Jakarta.The capital and largest city in Aceh is Banda Aceh, located on the coast near the northern tip of Sumatra. Other major cities include Sabang, Lhokseumawe, and Langsa. Aceh is divided into the following districts: Aceh Barat, Aceh Barat Daya, Aceh Besar, Aceh Jaya, Aceh Selatan, Aceh Singkil, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Tengah, Aceh Tenggara, Aceh Timur, Aceh Utara, Bener Meriah, Bireuen, Gayo Lues, Nagan Raya, Pidie, Simeulue, City Banda Aceh, City Langsa, City Lhokseumawe, City SabangAceh is a diverse region occupied by several ethnic and language groups.
The major ethnic groups are the Acehnese (who are distributed throughout Aceh), Gayo (in central and eastern part), Alas (in southeastern), Tamiang (in Aceh Tamiang), Aneuk Jamee (concentrated in southern and southwestern), Kluet (in South Aceh), and Simeulue (on Simeulue Island). There is also a significant population of Chinese, who are influential in the business and financial communities.
Jogjakarta
 The Special Region of Jogjakarta is a province of Indonesia on the island of Java. It is the only province in Indonesia that is still formally governed by a precolonial Sultanate, the Sultanate of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat. Jogjakarta is commonly pronounced and often spelled Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta is located in south-central Java. It is surrounded by the province of Central Java (Jawa Tengah) and the Indian Ocean in the south. The city is located at 7°47' S - 110°22' E. The population of DIY in 2003 was approximately 3,000,000. The province of Yogyakarta has a total area of 3,185.80 km². Yogyakarta has the second-smallest area of the provinces in Indonesia, after the Jakarta Capital Region. However it has, along with adjacent areas in Central Java, some of the highest population densities of Java. Jogjakarta, is subdivided into four regencies (kabupaten) and one city (kota), which are: Yogyakarta City, Sleman Regency, Bantul Regency, Gunung Kidul Regency, and Kulon Progo Regency. On 27 May 2006, Jogjakarta bore the brunt of a 6.3-magnitude earthquake which killed 5,782 people and left some 36,299 persons injured. More than 135,000 houses are damaged, and 600,000 people are homeless. The earthquake extensively damaged the local region of Bantul, and its surrounding hinterland. The most significant number of deaths occurred in this region. Makassar Makassar is the provincial capital of South Sulawesi, Indonesia, and the largest city on Sulawesi Island. From 1971 to 1999, the city was formally named Ujung Pandang, after a precolonial fort in the city, and the two names are often used interchangeably. The port city is located on the southwest coast of the island of Sulawesi, facing the Makassar Strait. Its area is 175.77 km2 and has population of 1.25 million. Tangerang
Tangerang is the name for both a district and a municipality in Banten Province, Indonesia on the island of Java. The district of Tangerang has an area of 1,157 km² and population 3,194,282 (2005), excluding the municipality of Tangerang City itself. Though commonly misunderstood as being a part of Jakarta, it is actually part of Jabotabek, the metropolitan area surrounding Jakarta. Tigaraksa is the capital of the district. Tangerang district is bounded by Java Sea to the north, Jakarta and Tangerang City to the east, and West Java and Lebak Regency to the south. It is subdivided into 36 sub-districts, which is furthermore divided into several villages and administrative villages. The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is located in Tangerang district.
The municipality of Tangerang (or Tangerang City) is located about 20 km west of Jakarta. It is the third largest urban center in the Jabotabek region after Jakarta and Bekasi. It has an area of 164.54 km² and population of 1,488,666 (2005).
